Who we are
London & Essex Roof Cleaning is run by Terry, a sole trader, who is the controller of the personal information described here. You can contact us about your information on 01268 578555 or at hello@londonandessexroofcleaning.co.uk.
What we collect
- What you tell us when you ask for a quote: your name, phone number, email, postcode, the first line of your address if you give it, your type of property, what you would like done and any notes.
- Details of any work we quote for or carry out, what you paid and when.
- Photos of your roof and gutters taken before and after the work.
- How you use this website, as described in the cookies and tracking section below.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote, which usually means looking up your address on publicly available online maps and aerial photos, and arranging a visit if we need a closer look. This is so we can take steps you have asked for before a contract.
- To carry out and invoice the work, which is necessary for our contract with you.
- To keep records we must hold for tax and accounting.
- To send occasional reminders or offers about similar services by email or text, unless you tick the box on our form or tell us to stop. Every message tells you how to opt out.
- To understand which advertising brings enquiries, so we can spend it well. This is in our legitimate interests.
Photos of your roof
We may use before and after photos of the roof itself in our marketing. We never use photos that show you, your house number or anything that identifies your address. If you would rather we did not use your photos, tell us at any time.
Who we share it with
Our office team handles calls and enquiries on our behalf. We also use trusted providers to run the website and send email: website hosting, a secure database, email delivery, and the analytics and advertising tools listed below. They act on our instructions and may store data in the UK, the EU or the US under recognised safeguards. We never sell your information.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not go ahead: up to two years, then deleted.
- Customer and payment records: six years after the job, as the law requires for tax.
- Marketing preferences: until you opt out, and a record that you opted out after that.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to limit its use. Contact us using the details above. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
