Usually within 10 minutes. Nearly every roof can be priced without a visit. If we need a closer look, the visit is free and usually the same week.

Most homes are done in one day, gutters and tidy-up included. Large or complicated roofs can take two.

For years. Most of the moss comes off on the day, and the biocide clears what's left over two to three weeks, then stops it coming back. Every roof clean comes with a written 3-year moss-free guarantee.

If moss clearly grows back within three years, we re-clean the roof free. It's written on your invoice. Common sense applies: a roof under overhanging trees isn't covered, because the trees keep feeding it.

Just an outside tap and a power socket we can use, and access to the front and back. You don't need to be in for the whole day.

No. Every roof clean includes a free gutter clear and a free fascia & soffit clean. Both are done on the same day as the roof. We also do gutter clearing on its own.

Usually, yes. We can see the size and shape of your roof and how much moss is on it without coming out, and photos you send help too. If anything is unclear, such as access at the back, we arrange a free visit first. Either way, the price we give you is the price you pay.

No. We use low pressure only, never high-pressure blasting. We photograph the roof before we start, and if a tile is disturbed during the clean we replace it like for like at no cost.

Just at the start, so we can walk round with you, and at the end to sign it off. In between we only need access to the garden and drive, an outside tap and a power socket.

We let any neighbours below the roof line know before we start, and lay tarpaulin so nothing lands on their garden, drive or car.

Concrete tiles, clay tiles and slate, on bungalows, chalet bungalows, terraces, semis and detached houses. Garage, porch, bay and conservatory roofs can be done on the same visit.

Yes. We use a professional roof biocide at the maker's dilution, sprayed onto the roof only, with tarpaulin down below. Keep pets indoors while it goes on.

We still come. Rain makes no difference to the clean or the treatment. We only move your date if strong wind or frost makes it unsafe to work at height.

Over time, yes. Roof moss holds water against the tiles, frost then lifts and cracks them, and the clumps block gutters so water runs down the walls.

You can, but working at height is the risky part, and scraping leaves the roots behind. Without a biocide, moss grows straight back.

No. High pressure can crack tiles, wear away the surface of concrete tiles and drive water under the ridge. We use low pressure only.

Usually not. Most moss sits on sound tiles. If we spot slipped or cracked tiles we photograph them and tell you before we start, and can put you in touch with a roofer we trust.

We flush the gutters with water and flow-test every downpipe before we leave. You can watch the water run freely.

Rarely. The gutter vacuum works from the ground on extendable poles, so nothing leans on your fascias. On the odd awkward run we use a ladder, carefully.

Almost always a blockage: moss washed off the roof, leaves, or a nest. Gutter clearing from the ground fixes it, and we flow-test every downpipe so you know the water runs away again.

At least once a year, and twice if you have trees overhanging the house.

We tell you before touching it. Nesting birds are protected, so an active nest stays until the season is over.
